During your life time you have probably heard someone say that all your internet activity is being tracked by Government and certain mega corporations. But how is this possible? How can a company like Google or Facebook really know what I look up online when I’m in the privacy of my own home with the shades drawn. There are billions of people zipping around online every day. How can they sort through all that random data and figure out which is mine and put it in my file. How does Google know that I even exist and have a separate file to record all my electronic footprints? Most likely every click you typed into your computer was track and stored by Google and to a lesser existent Facebook. But how do they do this, this is a very entry level explanation of how, so buckle up.

Free Google Apps They Are In Most Websites

Google has made some very helpful apps that many web developers use. They made Google Analytics that help website owners track the traffic to their website. They made Google Adsense that put advertisements into the websites to earn the owner extra money free of charge. They have Google Maps that help people find their way to a physical location. They made Google Fonts that give developers cool new style fonts to make their newest website really pop. They make many more website add ons but you get the idea. These options are super useful. Why did Google make these things, because they are nice and they have money to burn?

Maybe but that is’t the full picture. It is true that these Apps makes people think positively about Google and gives them allot of positive press. It also makes people more likely to sign up for a Google account and use Google products. But there is a second option that most people might not think about.

These Apps or Add Ons get added to people’s websites all across the internet. They are a part of millions of websites just operating there in the background. If a web browser that is logged into Google with a Google Cookie in its Cache and it comes across these websites with Google apps installed in them in them, a record is made in your file at Google Head Quarters. This is how they track you and every website you visit and what you click on these websites. The Google Apps are reporting back that they saw Google account #1234 and they visited their website at a specific time and date and looked at these things.

So your Browser is tracking you, the very websites you visit are tracking you, how can you fight back against Google’s Trackers?

  1. You can log out of Google on that particular browser and
  2. Delete your Browser search history and cookies.

That particular Browser is now Google free and if you visit a website with a Google app it won’t be added to your Google file. There are a few things we need to clarify through.

  • This only works for that particular Browser. If you use another Browser that is logged into Google and has the Google Cookie then it will be tracked.
  • If you later log into Google in your Google Clean Browser, Google might be able to determine the websites you visited.

If your Google free web browser encounters Google then Google can make a ballpark guess about who you are. Just like it always does when it doesn’t find it’s computer browser code.

Some Cell Phones are require you to be logged into Google for certain aspects of them to work correctly. Does this effect your computers web browsers ability to be tracked by Google? Well Google will look at the fact that there is an unknown web browser that has the same IP address and physical location as a Cell Phone that they have identified. Most people’s cell phone is always on and broadcasting their location data out to everyone. They can use the fact that these two objects are very close to each other to determine that they are most likely belonged to the same person. So Google might put all that clean browsers internet data into your file.

Final thoughts.

I would recommend that you download Chrome as your internet Browser and then do all your Google stuff on there. Then download another Internet Browser or a few and do your Non Google stuff on there. For people who are a little more extreme you can download an operating system like tails that clears your computer back to it’s factory reset every time you turn it off or on. My point is you have options.
